Effective Altar Ministry
by By: Robert E. Henson
View in Library Catalog
This book is recommended for those who desire to pray for individuals at a Pentecostal altar. By the laying on of hands and general guidance assisting individuals in prayer at an altar can create an atmosphere for them to seek God, repent of their sins, make a conscious decision that they need to be Baptized in Jesus name and at that very moment they can be filled with the Holy Ghost and speak in a new tongue. The person can be introduced to the Acts 2:38 Salvation plan. Acts 2:38 KJV: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

It is an encouraging book. I will definitely read it again.
Looking For Alaska
by John Green

Looking for Alaska was one of my favorites when I first read it back in high school. Now a college graduate, and I wanted to see how it would hold up. There were still many things to love about this story. It's easy to read, has likeable characters, and is a fairly straight forward plot that does try to tackle some of life's deeper questions. From a slightly more mature perspective, I question these characters and their actions a little bit more than I did several years ago, but I still think it's worth a read, especially if you have never read any other John Green books before.

Blue Christmas
by Mary Kay Andrews
View in Library Catalog
'Tis the week before Christmas, and antiques dealer Weezie Foley is in a frenzy to do up her shop right for the Savannah historical district decorating contest, which she fully intends to win. Her motif is Graceland Blue Christmas, with lots of tinsel, an aluminum tree, and enough tacky retro doodads to fill the Grand Ole Opry. But no sooner is she certain she's one-upped the trendy shop around the corner when Weezie notices things going strangely missing from her display.
