I recommend the book because it is good and sad. At the beginning they get a dog and at the end the dog dies.

You Never Forget Your First
by Alexis Coe

This is a biography of George Washington that takes a closer look at myths and stories surrounding him that we have always thought true and debunks them. This book makes you realize though Washington was a great man, he wasn't perfect. I recommend it as the author brings up many interesting facts about him that makes you see him more clearly, faults and all.

The Chemist
by Stephenie Meyer
View in Library Catalog
Don't let the author's name scare you away. Meyer proves that she can tell a great story devoid of vampires and werewolves. The Chemist truly has something for everyone, be it action, romance, mystery, or just unpredictable twists. Alex is a complex protagonist, an anti-hero of sorts, and it's difficult not to root for her and the companions she makes along the way.
A Long Way To A Small Angry Planet
by Becky Chambers
View in Library Catalog
This book was a little absurd. I don't typically read sci-fi that involves an entirely new universe and various alien creatures, so maybe it's just not for me. However, I did enjoy many aspects of this story. Chambers created an entire universe with new creatures, social structures, and cultures. From a sociological perspective, it was fascinating. The relationships between the characters were definitely the most intriguing part of this book. The plot itself left a lot to be desired. It truly was about the journey and not the destination. If you enjoy world building and escaping into complex relationships between various species, then this book is for you. However, if you like an adventure story driven more by plot, you may want to look elsewhere.
The Newcomer
by Suzanne Woods Fisher

Henrick Newman (The Newcomer) is introduced into the story line. Problems arise as the Bishop becomes ill and there is no leadership for the community. Anna's love is tested. In this historical novel we get to meet Ben Franklin.
