Summer Of '69
by Elin Hilderbrand
View in Library Catalog
An upper class family in the summer of 1969. On Massachusett's Nantucket Island area. I enjoyed reading the story and reminiscing about my life at that age (20/21). Well written. I now want to read my stories by this author. She has written twenty-three more novels. Great summer reading.

New Kid

Graphic Novels are not my usual preferred genre but I gave this title a try and am happy that I did. This book about a seventh grader changing schools and his experiences in this more exclusive, less diverse school gives a great POV.
Looking For Alaska
by John Green
View in Library Catalog
Looking for Alaska was one of my favorites when I first read it back in high school. Now a college graduate, and I wanted to see how it would hold up. There were still many things to love about this story. It's easy to read, has likeable characters, and is a fairly straight forward plot that does try to tackle some of life's deeper questions. From a slightly more mature perspective, I question these characters and their actions a little bit more than I did several years ago, but I still think it's worth a read, especially if you have never read any other John Green books before.
Fancy Nancy Nancy Takes the Case
by Victoria Saxon

I had fun reading this story because Nancy always solves the case. I like Nancy as a detective. Also, with little help I learned few new words.
How I love Thee
by Henry Drummond

The important thing is to love others rather than to be loved. Walk in love as Christ also hath loved us.There is no remedy for love but to love more.

The Mother Tongue
by Bill Bryson

This book is an interesting look at how the very complicated English evolved over the centuries to become the modern world's foremost language. A must read for those interested delving into the history of English.
A Man Called Ove
by Fredrik Backman

Ove is a character. I heard many people liked this novel. I had to read it. Everyday events, neighbors, life in general are all explored in this book.
