The Gingerbread Cookie Mystery
by Judy Katschke
View in Library Catalog
book cover

It is a nice story because I like to build a Gingerbread House. Ms. Fickle class built a gingerbread house as well, but one piece of the house went missing. In this case, the only thing that I didn't like in this story was that kids were blaming each other about missing snowflake cookie. But finally the mystery was solved and everybody was very happy.

This book is very interesting and easy to read. It teaches a lot about sea horses. I learned that male sea horses are the only male animals that have babies.

The important thing is to love others rather than to be loved. Walk in love as Christ also hath loved us.There is no remedy for love but to love more.

I like the book because the pictures tell a lot about the story. Raina is not afraid to do things and figures it out at the end of the story.

Whose Dead, Doc?

I like cozies. They're easy, breezy reads that are fun to read after a long day at work. Juliette takes care of bunnies and solves mysteries in her spare time as an amateur sleuth. When a dead body ruins a birthday party she's hosting a bunny show at, the host asks her to get involved and help the cops find the killer. It wasn't going to be easy since Evelyn, the person who has killed, was disliked by everyone and had a lot of enemies. She would blackmail people. To help uncover more about Eveyln's murder, Juliette accepts a position as a judge at a local bunny competition. Evelyn was judging but since was killed, the competition was down a judge. For the most part, it's a fun and thrilling read. Some parts are hard to read if you're a hardcore animal lover like me. Not everyone in the book loves and cares about the sweet little bunnies and sometimes puts them in harm's way.

A Long Way To A Small Angry Planet
by Becky Chambers

This book was a little absurd. I don't typically read sci-fi that involves an entirely new universe and various alien creatures, so maybe it's just not for me. However, I did enjoy many aspects of this story. Chambers created an entire universe with new creatures, social structures, and cultures. From a sociological perspective, it was fascinating. The relationships between the characters were definitely the most intriguing part of this book. The plot itself left a lot to be desired. It truly was about the journey and not the destination. If you enjoy world building and escaping into complex relationships between various species, then this book is for you. However, if you like an adventure story driven more by plot, you may want to look elsewhere.
